How to Get Your Diabetic Shoes?
Step 1
See your physician and obtain a prescription and completed Statement of Certifying Physician for Therapeutic Shoes (CMN) and Medical Notes that highlights the disability related to the supportive documentation.
*Note Statement of Certifying Physician (CMN) and medical notes must completed by physician who treats the diabetes
Step 2
Make an appointment at your local Mark Kirshner Orthotics location and bring the Completed Statement of Certifying Physician for Therapeutic shoes (CMN), Prescription and Medical Notes.

Great doctor, the process was easy, simple and fast. We are very pleased. The girl at the front office is sweet as pie. We received great instructions on exactly when to change the inserts for the shoes, the shoes are fabulous. Recently, my orthopedic doc wrote a prescription with Mark’s company for shoe inserts. I had a great experience with him and the staff. I was able to make a first appointment relatively soon (within a eeek) and was called within a week to receive my completed ortho inserts. Before each appointment I received a reminder call and was given detailed specifics for what to bring and what to expect. My wait time (afternoon appointments) in the office each time was very short. The fitting was swift and accurate. I’ve had the inserts for one week now and all is going well with them. I plan to keep in touch with the office, as described by Mark, if any problems arise and if any wear on theme come around. Highly recommend the office and their services.

First, Mark and his staff are very professional and personable. They took all of the time with me necessary to meet my needs. The product is top shelf. I have been using Kirshner orthotic inserts for over 4 years and have never had an issue with them. I recently had major foot surgery. The changes in my foot necessitated new inserts. Mark and his employees are great to work with! I had an orthotic from an other company. It never fit right. They did not listen to me. Mark and his employees listened to me.
Not only did Mark listen to me,but I never felt like I was the problem. He went into great detail and truly worked to understand my problem. He worked to make sure everything was working properly before Ieft his office. I would be willing to pay more to see him,than go to anywhere else!

Dr. Kirshner listened to my husbands needs for his orthotics. After custom fitting and making them, he was able to tweak them in house while we waited, so they were even a better fit. The pressure has been taken of his callus and he has evened out his entire step. So excited to see my husband out of pain.

Mark was great but the office staff I found to be short and unconcerned about my time and money. I called in to make the initial appointment and specifically asked if I needed to do anything concerning insurance. They said no they would take care of it. I did give them my doctor's info but when I arrived they did nothing to prepare, The session came out fully from my pocket. almost 900.00 . Then today almost a month after ordering I call to see if they have any word on completion on my order.. She said "oh I was going to call you... the order is in. Now I have to wait a full week to pick up because they are booked. I wish that office staff cared more about patient's time then just get them off the phone, She did not seem to care that it took almost a month.. She just told me other people are waiting months.. This should have brought to my attention when I ordered. There is a way to speak to clients and a way just to get them off the phone, Sorry I bothered you Leslie.. Just wanted to check on order.

For most of my life, I've struggled with a bad left ankle. Beginning in my teens, I wore several casts and had two surgeries on it. Recently, I saw another orthopedist who gave me the names of a few orthotics offices. Luckily, I chose Mark Kirshner.
Mark met with me and allowed me to tell him about the problem. He then asked several questions while examining my ankle and foot. For the first time in my life, I felt confident that someone truly understood the situation.
A mold of my of foot was made, but then Mark studied each part and made small, but important, corrections.
Today, I picked up the brace he had ordered. Mark had me put on the brace and walk. When I made comments about a pain or rubbing, he took the brace and manipulated it so that in the end, it fit comfortably.
I am confident that I have found an individual who can and will work to ease or alleviate patient problems. Mark is a kind, outgoing individual who is most concerned with helping people. I appreciate his help and highly recommend him. No one in the area is better than he is in providing skilled care aimed at helping people who suffer with pain. His efforts offer his patients relief from those problems so that they can live healthier, happier lives.
His office staff are friendly and take time to work with all to complete paperwork. Their smiles and funny lines made an appointment at the office enjoyable.

Mark and his team are really good. They are very friendly. My son has CMT and they have been really knowledgeable and helpful with his foot care problems. Mark made his custom insoles and they helped so much with his foot pain. And when he had to get braces. Mark was able to help my son where he could walk in his brace with out pain. Mark is fantastic! I have had two sets of orthotics done by him and they are great and long lasting. Mark considers your foot needs fully - does not just address a single specific issue. We visited Mark Kirshner for my husband's orthotics. He is diabetic and has a toe amputation. At our first visit, without looking at his notes, Mark asked my husband if he was missing a toe just from looking at his shoe!!! I knew at that point that we had finally found someone who was really experienced in his field. Mark took time to listen to my husband's concerns and created an orthotic that is giving him some much needed relief. We are pleased with our experience with Mark Kirshner and highly recommend him to anyone looking for foot relief.

I have been Mark's patient for 4+ years. Prior to that, I had gone to 3 other orthotists in Knoxville and Mark is by far the most knowledgeable and patient. For the first 2 years I only needed diabetic shoes and orthotics. Mark introduced me to Mt. Emey shoes for the first time. They are excellent as are orthotics Mark makes. Last year Mark realized my R foot has deteriorated further (I have Charcot in both feet) and suggested I see a second ortho specialist in addition to the Dr. I had been seeing. She prescribed an AFO which required Mark making a mold and follow-up adjustments. This year, the AFO hasn't been enough to control the pain. My Dr. has me in a cast for the past several weeks. The doctor suggested the next step be a CROW walking boot. Mark made the time to explain the pros and cons of the CROW and will cast me for it soon. I wish I could give Mark six stars! My arches had well and truly fallen and after a couple of hours on my feet, I was in serious pain, which is extremely life altering. Got orthotic inserts made for shoes and tried them for a week or so. Mark told me to call if I needed them adjusted and he would work me in that day. I called with discomfort and left a message with no return phone call. I called back next day and told me I would have to make an appointment a for a week later. Good product but poor customer service.
